I am producing the first of what I hope will be a large range of 3mm scale models, based on kits I have developed in the past for 2mm finescale. All the artwork has been thoroughly revised for the greater detail required in 3mm. The kits consist of etched parts, together with resin mouldings produced from CNC masters for a very high level of detail, and whitemetal castings. The models have been developed from official works drawings, as well as measurements from preserved examples. The kits are supplied in a stout box, together with an illustrated instruction booklet and a companion CD containing additional photographs of the model construction and prototype details. These kits will be produced in limited editions of 50 only, with future batches depending upon demand. I am now taking orders for these kits, with delivery expected in August.

1. BR Class 08 shunter. Resin super-detailed bonnet and cab roof mouldings - no forming of curved parts required - with etched body and chassis parts, as well as whitemetal castings for chassis details. Parts are provided to model as far as is known all variants of this, the largest class of locomotives ever to be built in Great Britain, covering both earlier riveted and later pressed-steel doors, and all combinations of footplate boxes. Chassis available for both 12mm and 14.2mm gauges (please specify your requirement). Soldered construction is recommended, although with care the body can be constructed using glue alone. The kit is complete apart from wheels, motors, gears and couplings. £60.

2. LMS/BR Class 11 shunter. The predecessor to the Class 08, built by the LMS from 1944 onwards, as well as by BR surviving into the 1970s. The GWR had a similar version. Also used extensively by the NS (Dutch railways) and still in service today. Parts supplied to build both the LMS/BR and Dutch versions. Model specification as for the Class 08. £60.

3. BR 4 Wheel CCT (diagram 816). Resin roof moulding with roof ribs and rainstrips included. Etched body and fully detailed underframe including all brakegear, and whitemetal castings for underframe parts. Can be constructed with either a rigid or sprung underframe, Complete apart from wheels and couplings. £35.
